Appearances:
Background: Character and canon history

Personality: Yukio is conscientious, controlling and ethical, with a strong sense of right and wrong. He typically has problems with resentment and impatience directed towards his twin brother, Rin.

Despite this, he has a desire to protect him and that leads him to want to improve himself in various ways using whatever degree of influence he has. Even though he is only 15 years old he has already gained a Meister title in two separate classifications: Dragoon and Doctor. He strives to overcome adversity—particularly the fear of succumbing to his demonic heritage—so that his human spirit can shine brightly. He strives for his goal of protecting Rin even at the cost of great personal sacrifice.

Yukio is a kid of practical action—he wishes to be useful in the best sense of the word. On some level of consciousness, he feels that he has a mission to fulfill in life, if only to try his best to reduce the disorder that his brother creates.

Although Yukio has a strong sense of purpose, he also typically feels that he has to justify his actions to himself, and often to others as well. He looks up to Rin for defending him when they were young, and strives to be strong like him. His disposition causes him to spend a lot of time thinking about the consequences of his and Rin's actions, as well as about how to keep from acting contrary to his convictions. Because of the fact that Yukio thinks of himself as a rationalist who uses logic and objective truth it was not that much of a surprise for Yukio to blame Rin for the death of Father Fujimoto. If there was a thing to make Fujimoto control waiver it would of been something Rin said or did to make the ex- paladin faith falter. To Yukio, Fujimoto was an role model, someone to look up to. Fujimoto was the one that suggested for him to become someone strong enough to look after Rin.

Yukio feels as if it is his duty to protect Rin, and thus is sore when he fails to do so during the masked man's attack. The feeling of being weak, despite how much hard work and effort he had put into being not only an exorcist but someone strong enough to protect his demonic brother made Yukio despise the fact that Rin is stronger and more capable of himself and the people around him. It is much easier to hate somebody then to admit the fact that they are better then you. This negative outlook made Yukio team up with his grandfather to defeat all demons, but it was revealed he was doing this to make himself and Rin become human once all connections with Gehenna were terminated.

In the effort to stay true to his principles, Yukio resists being affected by his instinctual drives, consciously not giving in to them or expressing them too freely. He is usually seen by others as highly self-controlled, even rigid. Part of the reason why he is how he is, is because of the fact that he takes what Fujimoto had taught him as a child. He was the one to give Yukio the opportunity to learn to become strong: to protect himself and his brother by becoming an exorcist.

Yukio believes that being strict with himself (and eventually becoming “perfect”) will justify him in his own eyes and in the eyes of others. But by attempting to create his own brand of perfection, he often creates his own personal hell. Part of that hell deals with the fact that he is burdened with the weight being related to the son of Satan, the expectations and judgement he has to live with, and a brother that has no understanding of the weight placed on his shoulders. This orientation makes it difficult for him to trust his inner guidance—indeed, to trust life—so Yukio has come to rely heavily on his lessons, to guide him towards being strong enough to protect Rin.

Socially, Yukio is still a little kid who was picked on when he was a child- only a slight bigger and able to protect himself and his brother. In other words- Yukio is an awkward turtle. That awkwardness often presents itself when he has to interact with other kids his own age and around females. Especially around females.

So the long and short of it is that he is:

+ He is intelligent, a so called genius of his age.
+ He is medically trained.
+ He has a strong sense of will.
+ He has a strong sense of perfectionism.
+ He has excellent marksmanship.

- He is very jealous of his brother.
- He does not talk much about his emotions.
- He is prone to self-loathing.
- His strong perfectionist streak could negatively impact him.
- He is socially awkward.

Abilities/Skills:

Yukio doesn't have super natural powers instead he relays on his weapons and his skills. As far as skills go, Yukio is rather skilled at both marksmanship and medical assistance. At the point in the show I am taking Yukio- he has just recently started to gain a slight edge in strength- in particular with the arm with all the spots on it. Due to being the younger twin, Yukio would only use his strength under great duress.

Inventory: He owns two M1911 Colt .45 automatic pistols equipped with 4 spare magazines with seven rounds each, six dozen holy silver bullet jackets, two holy water grenades, and one pouch belt that holds various medical supplies, herbs and poisons, and holy water.

SAMPLES

First Person Sample:

[At first Yukio's phone clicks on to reveal a young looking teenager sitting upon his bed, his eyebrows almost knitted together in deep thought as he took apart one of his two pistols. Each and every motion was a pure automatic- a thing that he had done over a million times. A dark look slowly crossed Yukio's face as he roughly reassembled his gun back together, his grip on the weapon was turning his knuckles white. The sudden clatter of his bedroom door being kicked open forced the less then pleasant expression on Yukio's face to flee as he turned around to greet his brother with a simple sigh and an lifted eyebrow.]

Niisan- you need to be more careful...

[The flip phone captures the sound of Rin's laughter, it's camera momentary blocked when the twins wrestled off the bed. The winner of the impromptu fight was Rin as he dragged Yukio into a armlock and thoroughly rewarding the weaker twin with a ruffling of his already messy brown hair, playing deaf to the gunman's protests over the crowing of his own awesomeness.]

What's that little bro? You are begging for me to go easier on you next time?

[There was the sudden sound of someone grunting in distress almost as if the said winner of the fight had promptly received a sharp jab in the stomach with a sharp and boney elbow.]

I did not say anything like that nii-san. As good as it is seeing you in good spirits we do not have enough time to mess around, there are other things we need to focus on. Did you get a chance to check out the hallways? I did a quick experiment and all the results came out differently.

[It was at this time the phone's view returned with the pleasant view of an irate little brother before he promptly turned it off.]

OR

[ When Yukio's phone first clicks on, it reveals an expression made of pure unadulterated panic. It's clearly written upon his face with the way that his pupils are dilated and unable to keep focus, constantly darting from one thing to another almost as if he's trying to keep track of several things at once. His breathing is ragged, coming out in short but rapid pants. The desperation and fear he is undoubtedly feeling is slowly turning his fingers numb, causing the feed to shake as the phone trembles in his hands. ]

You're not me!

[After a beat, Yukio visibly flinches as if someone had said something to him.]

No! That isn't true! It is because-

[Once more there is a lull in Yukio's protest. A single drop of sweat trickles down the side of his face.]

No! The tests are not the same! They could be wrong! It isn't true!

[Yukio's face twists into a grimace as he steps backwards, accidentally falling to his knees in an attempt to get away from whatever was not being recorded. In his rush to escape Yukio accidentally drops his phone, next to a dark smear on the floor- the very same smear that had originally prompted him to take out his phone in the first place, when he pulls out his gun.]

This isn't real!

[From its new position on the floor, the forgotten phone is now showing the sight of the poor boy hastily pointing his gun at empty space, his fingers trembling as it squeezes around the trigger.]

Third Person Sample:

It was supposed to be a simple mission- go out and see what could be causing the back up of the underground tunnel and then go report it back to headquarters. And at first it was just as simple as that- nothing too huge of a problem for him to handle. But what seemed at first to be a massive collection of coal tars turned out to be just a harbinger of a much bigger problem. Coughing roughly into his exorcist jacket, Yukio's eyes started to water as the stench of dirty water and thick musty stale air invaded his nose.

"Okumura.... I have been watching you." The demon bubbled out as it's massive body slugged forward towards the still coughing boy. "I know your secret... As much as you deny it and still claim to be human...You and your brother share the same blood." The demon chuckled as more spores opened up and released plumes of smoke. "Yes, we share similar blood, but not the same blood." Yukio muttered between clenched teeth and the cover of his sleeve as his other hand pointed his gun at the demon and fired. Once. Twice. Three shots were used and the demon before him stood unaffected. "Blood is Blood Okumura... It is only a matter of time before you develop.... If you haven't already." The demon chuckled as it's mossy green eyes focused on a single scratch on the top of Yukio's hand.

"Don't assume you know me." Yukio growled low in his throat as he stepped backward, his focus entirely placed upon the demon before him and not upon the small shallow cut that he had obtained sometime between when he had entered the tunnel and now.

"Blood is such a personal thing Okumura... With a simple drop of blood you can tell everything about them. Their health, their diet, their strengths and weakness, and even their state of mind." The demon lazily burped as it spread further up along the tunnel. "Isn't that right Okumura? You are a doctor... You preform your own blood tests, don't you? How does your blood taste like?" A sharp response boiled on the tip of Yukio's tongue as his gun hand shook, but no matter how much he tried he could not respond. It was not because of fear, nor because because he didn't want to. He just couldn't. He just couldn't move, let alone blink his eyes involuntary.
